A downloadable game

Made for thatgamecompany x COREBLAZER Game Jam 2025.

**THE CORRECT FILES ARE IN A PROJECT THAT IS LINKED IN THE COMMENTS**

I put this together by myself, and all of the sprites, backgrounds, and animations were made/drawn by me. This was my second time ever creating a game in Unity, and my first time working with Unity2D.

A and D for left and right movement, space to jump, E to interact when an indicator appears above an NPC or object.

There was meant to be multiple endings to this, but I ran out of time. There are still two different "routes" one can take that would have led to those two separate endings, but without the endings there, there's functionally very little difference between them. Theoretically, the game is over when you reach the mountain peak. I will probably come back to this later when I have more experience so I can clean up the incredibly scuffed code and implement assets and features I had planned to use but either didn't know how to or ran out of time to implement.

To anyone who chooses to play this: I greatly appreciate your patronage.  I hope you have a lovely morning/day/evening/night.

Note: this is also my first time using itch.io. I built and uploaded my game in, like, 3 minutes without prior knowledge of how to do so. Those 3 minutes were the last 3 minutes before I left to travel to my out-of-state summer job training, so I ended up uploading the wrong files. I was unable to fix it before the game jam ended, unfortunately.

When you upload your Unity game, make sure to send the entire build folder in a compressed .zip folder instead of just the .exe file. I'm sorry you didn't get it all in before the submission deadline, hope they give you a chance to sort it out! Seems like you put considerable thought into this project.

Send me a reply when it's ready to play or if you need help getting it uploaded. Cheers!

Thanks for your help! I made a new project with all the correct files and linked it in another comment. Let me know if it works!

Hooray, it looks good! I'm able to play it! I'll give some feedback in a little bit.
